How Sweet the Sound
chronicles the life of White Eagle, the Rosebud Sioux tenor and Metropolitan Opera performer who died of AIDS in 1995. The program wi
ll show how White Eagle overcame poverty and alcoholism to attain success, and how his struggle with AIDS presented a human face for the disease to many South Dakotans.

The project has received more than $60,000 in funding from the Central Education Network and Native American Public Telecommunications. Former SDPTV Producer Brenda Farnsworth is the executive producer and White Eagle's brother, Robert Moore, is the producer.
