He and his partner Chuck Swaggerty were one of the couples who have been party to the original Polk County, Iowa law suit that argued that denying marriage to same-sex couples violates the liberty and equality guarantees in the Iowa Constitution. Then Paul interviewed Robert Doody, Executive Director of the South Dakota American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU is backing a push by a group called ""Equality of South Dakota"" to prevent job discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. "
