Darfur Doctor, Fair embezzling, Andy Warhol

Dakota Midday - 03/04/2009

On today's edition of Dakota Midday, host Paul Guggenheimer welcomed Darfur native and Sioux Falls resident Dr. Adam Yahyah, the deputy governor during the last democracy in Darfur in 1989. Earlier today, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al Bashir on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfur. Then Paul spoke with Jeff Barth, a Minnehaha county commissioner assigned to the Sioux Empire Fair Association. A former office manager for the fair association has been charged with embezzling almost $250,000 from the fair in 2007 and 2008 and more may be missing. And finally, Paul was joined by Lindsey Twa, Art History teacher at Augustana College. An exhibit of Andy Warhol original Polaroid photographs and gelatin silver prints will be exhibited for the first time at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery starting Friday.
