Liz Garst, Missing Poet, Honor Flight

Dakota Midday - 05/05/2009

On today's edition of Dakota Midday, host Paul Guggenheimer interviewed Liz Garst, granddaughter of the late seed company executive Roswell Garst whose farm received a visit by Soviet Premiere Nikita Khrushchev 50 years ago this September. Liz was eight years old at the time and remembers the visit well. Then Paul spoke with University of South Dakota Associate Professor of English Lee Ann Roripaugh about the disappearance of award-winning poet Craig Arnold. Arnold worked as a visiting poetry professor at USD. And finally, Paul interviewed Larry Rohrer of Honor Flight South Dakota about the first trip taken by South Dakota World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the World War II and other memorials.
