This edition of Food for Thought features Matthew Eck, author of The Farther Shore, published by Milkweed Editions Press. Eck is a former soldier who served in Somalia and Haiti. He lives in Kansas City, Missouri. The Farther Shore is the winner of the 2008 Milkweed National Fiction Prize. Also on the program, Mark McGinnis, talks about an exhibit at the Apex Gallery in the Classroom Building at the School of Mines in Rapid City. This exhibit features 60 paintings by McGinnis, illustrating haiku by Kobayashi Issa.
