Missouri River: Cultural and Natural Resources

Dakota Midday - 04/19/2004

Author and Water Resources Consultant, Tom Mullen, will give us a perspective on the natural and cultural resources of the Missouri River, based on his recently published book, RIVERS OF CHANGE, TRAILING THE WATERWAYS OF LEWIS & CLARK. His book is a travelogue that describes his 5 months of following the Missouri as well as the Yellowstone and Columbia Rivers and explores how these rivers have changed in the last 200 years and how the changes have impacted attitudes, lifestyles and wildlife, as well as the natural habitats of the birds, fish and animals that live in and around the river. Joining Tom will be guests Herb Bollig from the National Fish Hatchery at Gavin's Point, and, USD archeologist, Larry Bradley.
