Last week some political hopefuls attended the “Campaign Academy” in three South Dakota communities. The courses were created by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. SD Forum’s hosts will speak with the academy’s local coordinator Ed Anderson, with the South Dakota Rural Electric Association and Eric Stratton and Terry Halter, Senior Advisors for the Grassroots Advocacy. Stratton and Halter also taught the political 101 workshops, which are designed to educate anyone seeking a political office such as county commission or a seat in the U-S Congress and the campaign staff of any party. Forum's hosts will also be joined by a political hopeful looking to learn from the topics that were covered in the “Campaign Academy” including fund-raising, campaign strategy, message development and communication skills.
