Summer Learning Activities for Children

Dakota Midday - 05/19/2004

"Research shows that summer is a critical time for developing and maintaining children's reading skills and enthusiasm for reading and that children who do not read during the summer show a marked decline in reading skills and reading enthusiasm when they return to school in the fall. Today's FORUM looks at a new, statewide program, called ""Summer Reading Achievers"", as well as other programs available in the state which provide activities for children during the summer. Our four guests will clue parents in to how to keep their kids productively busy and how to maintain their interest in learning during the summer hiatus. "
