Skin Cancer Prevention, Detection and Treatment

Dakota Midday - 06/16/2004

More than 1 million new cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year, this from the American Cancer Society's 2004 Facts and Figures, and more than 10,000 people will die from skin cancer this year. One person dies of melanoma every hour and the incidence of melanoma has tripped among Caucasians in the last twenty years. Today's FORUM will focus on Skin Cancers, their Prevention, Early Detection and Treatments. Joining us will be Dr. Roger Knutsen of West River Dermatology in Rapid City, Amy Paulsen, of the American Cancer Society, and special guest, Barb Johnson, a two-time survivor of breast cancer, who will speak about her work in prevention and early detection of all types of cancer in the US and abroad.
