Authors Michael Trump and Chip Berlet. Roberto Clemente remembered.

Dakota Midday - 08/18/2009

On 8/18/09, Host Paul Guggenheimer interviews Michael Trump, author of "Deadwood's Bad Lands: Its History of Prostitution and Gambling," a book in which he meticulously details why Deadwood has been called South Dakota's playground. Then Paul visits with Chip Berlet, co-author of "Right-Wing Populism in America: Too Close for Comfort." He says labeling people protesting against health care reform at town hall meetings as "extremists or wingnuts" undercuts basic concepts of the democratic process. And finally, Paul remembers the late Hall of Fame baseball player Roberto Clemente with an essay on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
