Political Junkies, Oakland A's Mark Ellis, Tom Strickland, Interior Department

Dakota Midday - 09/28/2009

On today's edition of Dakota Midday, Regional Political Junkies Dave Kranz and Kevin Woster make their regular Monday appearance with host Paul Guggenheimer. Among the topics is how the South Dakota governor's race is shaping up. Then Paul visits with Oakland A's 2nd baseman Mark Ellis, a Rapid City native, who just set a new A's franchise record for career home runs by a second baseman. Interestingly enough, the previous record was held by another Rapid City native Dick Green. And finally, Paul interviews Tom Strickland, Assistant Interior Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks. In conjunction with the Ken Burns documentary, "The National Parks America's Best Idea," Strickland talks about the future of the National Parks System and the National Parks Second Century Commission's recommendations for enhancing all aspects of our national parks.
