Nobel Peace Prize Forum, Martin Smith, Juvenile Programs

Dakota Midday - 10/13/2009

On 10/13/09, host Paul Guggenheimer interviews Brad Heegel, director of special projects at Augustana College and coordinator of the school's annual participation in the Nobel Peace Prize Forum. He has some interesting comments on President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Then Paul talks with Frontline correspondent Martin Smith, host of tonight's season premiere "Obama's War." Smith travelled across Afghanistan and Pakistan to see firsthand how the president's new strategy is taking shape. And finally, Paul speaks with Doug Herrmann, Director of Juvenile Services for South Dakota. The state has received $750,000 to fund programs intended to keep juveniles out of the corrections system.
