U.S./Israel Feud, SD Ag Secretary Bill Evan and The Kitchen Sisters

Dakota Midday - 03/31/2010

The U.S. and Israel are engaged in what might be their biggest feud over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement that Israel would build 1600 apartments for Jews in east Jerusalem.  Yishai Fleisher, Director of Programming for Israel National Radio, joins the program from Beit El near Ramallah along with University of South Dakota Associate Professor of Political Science Tim Schorn.

South Dakota Agriculture Secretary Bill Evan also appears on today's program to talk about money being cut from the State Fair budget, recently released farm estimates and the impact of flooding on crops.

And the Kitchen Sisters, Davia Nelson and Nikki Silva, talk about their new NPR series "The Hidden World of Girls."  The series covers stories about coming of age, rituals and rites of passage, secret identities and women who crossed the line, blazed a trail or changed the tide.
