On today's Dakota Midday, Paul Guggenheimer talks with award winning journalist John Seigenthaler. He won the Al Neuharth Award for Excellence in the Media in 1999. Seigenhaler was also the founding editorial director of USA Today. They discuss the American Indian Journalism Institute, Seigenthaler's career, and the future of journalism.

Next, Paul talks with Jon Lauck about his book "Prairie Republic, The Political Culture of Dakota Territory, 1879-1889."

Finally, Sioux Falls Argus-Leader writer Michael Klinski gives his reaction to the U.S. soccer team's win over Algeria. They discuss the World Cup, the game, and what lies ahead for the U.S.
