South Dakota Drop Out Rate, and BHSU's Move to Division II

On this edition of Dakota Midday, Wade Pogany, state director of curriculum and instruction for the South Dakota Department of Education, talks about South Dakota's drop out rate and what's being done to encourage kids to stay in school.

Next, North Middle School instructor Jackie Swanson discusses the "Solutions Program" with host Paul Guggenheimer. It is designed to reduce the high dropout rate for Native American kids in Rapid City schools. Paul also talks with students Camille Williams and Estrella Aragon. They share their stories and why they decided to return to school.

Finally, Jhett Albers, athletic director at Black Hills State University, discusses the school's move to NCAA Division II.
