Poverty Numbers, "The Children's Blizzard," Drivers Feeling Less Safe

On this edition of Dakota Midday, host Paul Guggenheimer talks with Joy Smolnisky, director of the South Dakota Budget and Policy Project. She discusses new figures released by the Census Bureau that show poverty rose substantially in South Dakota.

David Laskin discusses the talks he is giving tomorrow at Northern State. Laskin is the author of the "The Children's Blizzard" and "The Long Way Home."

Mark Madeja, of the South Dakota AAA, talks about a recent AAA Foundation survey showing over 50 percent of drivers feel less safe on the roads now than they did five years ago.
