New Zealand Earthquake, The Stavig Letters and Why Art Matters

Watertown resident Hobart McNames joins the show from New Zealand where he is visiting family.  He was in Christchurch just before a 6.3 earthquake hit.

Dr. Wayne Knutson, Professor Emeritus at the University of South Dakota created a readers' theater play from the letters of the Stavig brothers Lars and Knut.  Knutson and Jim Sprecher, Executive Producer of the one-hour SDPB-TV special based on the Stavigs, talk with Paul Guggenheimer.  Also joining the discussion by phone from Sisseton are John and Jane Rasmussen of the Stavig House Museum.

Bob Booker, Executive Director of the Arizona Commission on the arts, is speaking at today's Augustana College Thought Leader Forum on "Why Art Matters."

SDPB's Stephanie Rissler appears at the beginning of today's show to update listeners on the latest legislative news from Pierre.
