Today on Dakota Midday, Paul Guggenheimer talks with Jonathan Ellis, of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader, and Rapid City Journal's Kevin Woster. They discuss House Bill 1217, other statehouse issues, and more.

South Dakota Film Office Director Gary Keller reminisces about the Oscars. Keller scouted locations for the movie "Dances with Wolves," and was in attendance when the film was awarded seven Oscars.

And, Paul walks you through the 48 hour film festival in Aberdeen. He also talks with Tom Black, the Fischgaard Festival producer. They discuss what it takes to make a film in two days.
