SDPB's Paul Guggenheimer talks with one of the original Freedom Riders, Claire O'Connor, who is taking part in tomorrow's presentation of "The Legacy of the Freedom Rides of 1961." It is being held on the University of South Dakota campus.
Also, retired journalist and former Assistant to U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy, John Seigenthaler talks about being dispatched to the deep south to protect the Freedom Riders and being attacked and beaten himself. He is featured in the American Experience documentary "Freedom Riders" which is also being previewed at the USD event.
