Special Edition: Flooding Along the Missouri River

This is a Special Edition of Dakota Midday hosted by Paul Guggenheimer. On this program, SDPB's Charles Michael Ray gives an update on the flooding situation. Also, Mike Swenson is the Power Production Team Leader in the Missouri River Water Management Office of the Army Corps of Engineers. He discusses how the Army Corps is dealing with the massive surge of water heading down the Missouri.

Tim Cowman is the director of the Missouri River Institute at the University of South Dakota. He talks about the issues of high water flows, and historic floods.

Bob Schneider, assistant director of Parks in Pierre, talks about how the release of water will impact boating on the river this weekend as well as recreation. And, Eric Stasch, with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, talks about building levees to protect Pierre and Fort Pierre.
