Evacuations in Pierre and Dakota Dunes, Pine Beetles in the Black Hills, Making New Traditions Exhibit

State Senator Dan Lederman is a Dakota Dunes resident. He talks about efforts to protect homes and the governor's request that all residents there evacuate by tonight. Laura Schoen Carbonneau is the CEO of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce. She talks about the impact of the flood on business in the capital city.

Craig Bobzien of the U.S. Forest Service and Mt. Rushmore Curator Bruce Weisman talk about the Pine Beetle problem in the Black Hills.

Also, Peter Strong is the director of the Red Cloud Heritage Center Museum and co-curator of the Making New traditions Exhibit at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City. The exhibit features newly created work from eight emerging Native American artists with tribal ties in the northern plains. April Holder is one of those artists. She joins Strong to discuss the exhibit.
