The Mental Impact of Flooding, History of SD Dams, and the Changing Environment

Shawna Fullerton is the director of the Division of Community Behavioral Health with the Department of Social Services. She is joined by Dr. Jodi Owen, who is the director with Capital Area Counseling. They discuss how the flood situation is impacting the mental health of South Dakotans.

Stephanie Rissler talks about historic floods and dams in South Dakota. And, Tim Cowman talks about issues of high water flows and historic floods. Cowman is the director of the Missouri River Institute at the University of South Dakota.

Also, Climatologist Kevin Trenberth explains what he thinks is causing the recent environmental disasters across the nation. Trenberth is with the National Center for Atmospheric Research.
