Wall Street Sell Off and "The 39 Steps"

Dakota Midday - 08/09/2011

The downgrade of the U.S. credit rating caused a sell off on Wall Street.  Is a double dip recession unavoidable at this point and how is South Dakota being affected.  Mike Keller, Dean of the Beacom School of Business at the University of South Dakota, tries to make sense of what's going on.

Dann Hurlbert, Director of the Aberdeen Community Theatre's production of "The 39 Steps," joins the program during the second segment.  It's an interesting new play based on Alfred Hitchcock's film.  This version combines the elements of a spy drama with Monty Pythonesque comedy.

Meanwhile, Tom Schwans is playing the lead in the Black Hills Playhouse version of "The 39 Steps" which also opens this week.  He talks about the play as well as The Guerilla Shakespeare Project he co-founded in New York City.
