On today's Dakota Midday host Paul Guggenheimer talks with Kristi Turman, Director of the State Office of Emergency Management. The state is appealing the Federal Emergency Management Agency's denial of individual assistance for flood victims in South Dakota.
That's followed by a discussion with the Dakota Political Junkies Jonathan Ellis, from the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader, and Kevin Woster, from the Rapid City Journal. They weigh-in on the FEMA situation, an Iowa newspaper editorial calling for South Dakota senator John Thune to run for President and more speeding tickets for former Governor and Congressman Bill Janklow.
And the show ends with Jim Stembridge, author of Fifty State Capitols: The Architecture of Representative Government. Stembridge is doing a book signing at the Capitol building in Pierre next Tuesday. To learn more about our state capitol watch the SDPB TV documentary Our Statehouse - A Capitol Idea:
