Dakota Political Junkies and Author R. Alton Lee

Dakota Midday - 08/29/2011

Kevin Woster of the Rapid City Journal and Jon Hunter of the Madison Daily Leader join Dakota Midday for this week's Dakota Political Junkies segment.  They discuss Jeff Barth's candidacy for the U.S. House, proposals to redraw legislative districts and a Pierre crowd booing the Army Corps of Engineers flood explanation.

Later, author R. Alton Lee talks about his new book "Principle Over Party: The Farmers' Alliance and Populism in South Dakota, 1880-1900."  Lee describes how the populist movement sought to use the government's power to break up monopolies and help farmers.
