Dakota Midday - 09/19/2011

Josh and Rebecca Tickell won the "best documentary" award at the Sundance Film Festival for their last film "Fuel." Their new film "Freedom" makes what has been described as a compelling case for homegrown energy. They discuss the films and the affects of ethanol energy.

Tonight, a documentary of the Hayloft Gang airs on SDPB-TV. Garrison Keillor narrates "The Hayloft Gang, the Story of the National Barn Dance." The documentary's producer and director Stephen Perry tells the story of one of the nation's most popular country music radio shows of the ‘30s and ‘40s.

Also, singer and songwriter Michael Johnson plays live in the SDPB-TV studio, and talks about his current tour. Johnson is well known for his many hits including "Bluer than Blue" and "Give me Wings." He's touring the state this week and next.
