Homeless Veterans Summit, U.S. House Candidate Jeff Barth, and National Fossil Day

Pete Dougherty is the senior policy advisor and associate director of the Veteran Homeless Initiative Office at the Department of Veterans Affairs. He talks about homeless veteran populations, and how they seek help. A homeless summit for Veterans and Veterans at risk of homelessness is being held in Sioux Falls today.

Minnehaha County Commissioner, and Democratic candidate for U.S. House, Jeff Barth discusses his recent guest column in the Sioux Falls Argus Leader about the link between the Pakistani secret intelligence services and the attackers of U.S. troops in Afghanistan. He says the Obama Administration and South Dakota legislators need to be more vocal in their condemnation of this.

Also, today is National Fossil Day. Rachel Benton, a Badlands National Park paleontologist, talks about why fossils are important and how this day is being observed regionally and nationally.
