Cellphones while Driving Ban, "Theodore Roosevelt in the Badlands," and Life After Kim Jong-Il

Dakota Midday - 12/20/2011

State Senator Craig Tieszen talks about the recommendation, made by the National Transportation Safety Board, to ban all electronic devices while driving. He sponsored a proposed ban on cell phone use while driving in the last legislative session, which was defeated. He says the legislature will look into it again since the NTSB recommends that all states should implement a ban.

Roger Di Silvestro is the author of a new book called "Theodore Roosevelt in the Badlands." He talks about how Roosevelt's years spent as a rancher in the Badlands shaped the future president's values.

Also, Christine Hong talks about life in North Korea after Kim Jong-Il. Hong is a professor of Critical Pacific Rim and Asian American Studies for U.C. Santa Cruz.
