Dakota Political Junkies, Higher Education in South Dakota and the South Dakota Chorale

Dakota Midday - 01/09/2012

Today's Dakota Midday, hosted by SDPB News Director Cara Hetland, features the Dakota Political Junkies.  Madison Daily Leader Publisher Jon Hunter and Denise Ross, now writing for the Mitchell Daily Republic, talk about tomorrow's state of the state address and preview the 2012 South Dakota Legislature.

Hetland then welcomes Professor Bill Griffin of National American University in Rapid City and South Dakota Board of Regents Executive Director Jack Warner.  Griffin recently authored a study called, "Survey on Employment and Enrollment Numbers in Higher Education Institutions in the Black Hills of South Dakota."  Griffin and Warner talk about higher education's economic impact.

South Dakota Chorale Guest Conductor Charles Bruffy discusses the chorale's "Dream Keeper" concerts coming up Friday at the Washington Pavillion and Saturday at Dordt College.  He's joined by South Dakota Chorale Artistic Director Brian Schmidt.
