Statehouse Update, More Math and Science Teachers, Interning with Sen. Johnson, and the Emerging Artists Concert Series

Today's Dakota Midday is hosted by Kealey Bultena.

Jackelyn Severin provides an update on the legislative session.

Northern State University President Jim Smith talks about the increasing number of students at NSU who are training to become math and science teachers.  Smith is among those who are encouraged by Governor Dennis Daugaard's education reform package introduced during his state of the state address.

Sarah Michlitsch of Webster is an intern for Senator Tim Johnson.  She is a Northern State University banking student from Webster.  She talks about her experiences working as an intern in the U.S. Senate and what she's learned from Senator Johnson who chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. 

Jami Lynn and Mike LeMay discuss the the Emerging Artists concert series at the Dahl Arts Center. It happens every Friday night in the Bruce Lien Cultural Café.  Lynn and LeMay are playing there tomorrow night.  Pepper Massey is the Development Director at the Dahl Arts Center. She also sheds light on the Emerging Artists concert series.
