Statute of Limitations, Collective Bargaining and Mamma Mia!

SDPB's Stephanie Rissler stops by the Vermillion studio to give an update on today's activity at the South Dakota Legislature in Pierre.

Then, SDPB News Director Cara Hetland visits with State Senator Mark Johnston.  Senator Johnston discusses his proposal to end the statute of limitations in rape cases in South Dakota.  SDPB reporter Jackelyn Severin also provides more background in her Dakota Digest piece.

State Senator Stan Adelstein announced over the weekend that he is withdrawing his support for a proposed bill (HB 1261) to prohibit collective bargaining for public employees.  He talks about why he changed his mind after visiting with people from within his district.

In a pre-recorded interview, Dakota Midday Producer Steve Zwemke visits with actor Christian Whelan who plays the role of Sam Charmichael in the North American touring production of the musical Mamma Mia!  For the first time, Mamma Mia! comes to the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls with shows tonight and tomorrow night.
