Senior Vice President and Dean at Augustana College, Stereotypes in Visual Media, and Appointed Sixth Circuit Court Judge

Also, hear a conversation with Dr. Susan Hasseler.   She has been named senior vice president for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College at Augustana in Sioux Falls.  Her appointment marks the first time in Augustana's 151-year history that a woman will serve as Dean of the College.  Find out what she brings to the table this summer.

John Jennings is a professor of visual studies with the State University of New York.  He specializes in African American stereotypes in visual media and is leading a workshop at the University of South Dakota.  Jennings talks about many issues plaguing the competitive world of graphic design and stereotyping in media. USD Art Galleries Director Alison Erazmus also joins the conversation. She is working with Professor Jennings in conjunction with the Stilwell Student Awards Exhibition. She provides a sneak peak of the exhibit.

Yesterday, Governor Daugaard appointed Patricia DeVaney as a circuit judge in South Dakota's Sixth Judicial Circuit.  She has spent the last two decades as an assistant attorney general for South Dakota. Devaney talks about her new post as well as her prior career.
