Guitar Masters, Dr. Sidaway and Dr. Kumar, Maestro Delta David Gier

Dakota Midday - 02/23/2012

Host, Cara Hetland in Sioux Falls, talks with SDPB's Kealey Bultena about today's legislative happenings.

Dr. Larry Sidaway and Dr. Lou Kumar of Avera Medical Group Cardiovascular Specialists in Aberdeen designed a study to review costs and outcomes, "PCI for STEMI in a Rural Setting Without Surgical Back-Up, A Cost and Outcomes Analysis."  Sidaway and Kumar will share the results of their study on savings, for instance, of treating heart attack patients at a hospital in a rural setting such as Aberdeen instead of having to transport them to a larger city.

Maestro Delta David Gier of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra talks about this weekend's performance - Mozart's Final Symphony and a Dedication to Mary W. Sommervold.  He'll also talk about "Bus Day," during which the symphony presents three concerts specifically designed for students in grades 3 - 5 at the Washington Pavilion.  Young People's Concerts serve 5,500 students annually from across the region.

Darla Drew Lerdal and singer/songwriter Hank Harris talk Guitar Masters.  Harris is performing with Guitar Masters XV Friday and Saturday night at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City.  Guitar Masters is described as 4 masters, 2 nights and 1 instrument.  The Masters play in a round-robin style sometimes trading guitar riffs or providing rhythm guitar for another master's performance.
