Senate Bill 11, Academy Awards, Rising Gas Prices

Host Cara Hetland is in Sioux Falls and talks with SDPB's Stephanie Rissler in Vermillion about the legislative session.

Tanya Fiddler is the Executive Director for the Four Bands Community Fund and Chair of the South Dakota Indian Business Alliance. She and Karlene Hunter, the Co-Founder and CEO of Native American Natural Foods, look at economic development in "Indian Country," Senate Bill 11, and efforts to increase access to credit for tribal businesses. 

Jeff Logan is the President of Logan Luxury Theaters in Mitchell, Huron and Dell Rapids.  Logan reviews the 84th Annual Academy Awards, which aired last night.  Listen for details on the surprises, who was left out, and the overall presentation of the television program. Jeff also gives us the details and talk about "The Artist," which won Best Picture. 

Gregg Lasoski, Senior Petroleum Analyst for GasBuddy.com examines our rising fuel prices.  Why are the prices going up, how high will the go and how long will this trend last? South Dakota is currently ranked 19th in the country for best gas prices. Wyoming is ranked first.
