Winter Storms, "Remember, Maggy?", Senators Haverly and Hundstad

Dakota Midday - 02/28/2012

New Dakota Midday host, Karl Gehrke, is in Vermillion with Stephanie Rissler for a legislative talkback.

Kyle Weiser is a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. As a winter storm is bearing down on parts of South Dakota, Kyle talks on the snow predictions for the northeastern part of the state go up to 16 inches.  We'll find out where the system is tracking, when we'll get a break from the snow and rain and whether there is more of this kind of weather in our outlook before spring.

Andy Henrickson, Mount Marty College Theatre Department Chair, is directing "Remember, Maggy?"  This is the U.S. premier for "Remember, Maggy?" Steve English, Mount Marty's Technical Director and Lighting Designer had the inspiration to put on the play. "Remember, Maggy?" follows the complex relationship of two forty-something sisters; one a quintessential housewife and the other an alcoholic actress.  Their battles include the progression of their mother, played by student Morgan Hanzlik, and her Alzheimer's disease.

State Senator Jeff Haverly (R) of Rapid City and State Senator Jim Hundstad (D) of Bath have announced that they are leaving the legislature.  They will talk about their time in Pierre, issues in this year's session and why it has been, at times, quite contentious.
