Dakota Midday - 03/12/2012

Dakota Midday is hosted by Karl Gherke in Vermillion.

Frank Ferrante is an award-winning actor/director/playwright. He recreates his PBS, New York and London acclaimed portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx in this fast paced 90 minutes of hilarity. Chock full of the best Groucho one-liners, anecdotes and songs including "Hooray for Captain Spalding," and "Lydia, the Tattooed Lady," the audience literally becomes part of the show as Ferrante ad-libs his way throughout the performance in grand Groucho style. Ferrante brings "An Evening with Groucho" to the Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls on March 17 & 18th in a benefit for the Black Hills Playhouse & Sioux Empire Community Theatre.

SDSU Men's Basketball Coach, Scott Nagy, talks about the NCAA Tournament. The SDSU Men's Basketball Team is off to Albuquerque this week to take on Baylor in its first appearance ever in the NCAA Tournament.

USDA Under Secretary Michael Scuse about new CRP initiatives for grasslands and wetlands.

Highmore, South Dakota rancher, Jim Faulstich, operates the 8,000 acre Daybreak Ranch. A few of those acres are  enrolled in CRP, but he's more interested in taking a holistic approach to land management that balances conservation with operating a working operation. Faulstich participated in a White House conference on conservation earlier this month and will back in Washington, DC to meet with U.S. Senate and House staffers on the Farm Bill.
