Dakota Midday Book Club with Todd Lockwood, Peggy Stout and Joseph Marshall

Dakota Midday - 03/30/2012

On the first fifth Friday Dakota Midday Book Club Karl Gehrke welcomes author Todd Lockwood.  "Dance of the Innocents" is Lockwood's new novel in which he provides insights into the history and the short but meaningful life of the Ghost Dance.

Prairie Pages, an independent Pierre book store, was named the 2012 Retailer of the Year by the South Dakota Retailers Association.  Prairie Pages co-owner Peggy Stout talks about new books as well as favorites of her customers and staff.

Joseph Marshall III, Lakota elder, storyteller, craftsman, archer and author, joins the program from his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  His new book, "The Lakota Way of Strength and Courage: Lessons in Resiliance from the Bow and Arrow," explores the metaphor and symbolic power of the native bow and arrow, while presenting a dialogue on the ways in which cultures are transformed by external circumstances.
