SDPB news producer Gary Ellenbolt is attending the Black Hills Bakken Conference in Spearfish.  With thousands of people seeking their fortunes in the Bakken Oil Fields, communities in northwest North Dakota are seeing a population explosion.  With the possibility of large oil deposits in northwest South Dakota, Black Hills business leaders and city officials are in Spearfish discussing how the state can prepare for any opportunities. We talk with Ellenbolt about what's happening in North Dakota and the plans being made if a similar oil boom occurs in our state.

The Dakota Political Junkies are Denise Ross, correspondent with the Mitchell Daily Republic and Jon Hunter, publisher of the Madison Daily Leader. They discuss the Obama administrations withdrawal of child farm labor rules, former governor Mike Rounds' possible run for the U.S. Senate in 2014 and John Thune as a VP candidate for Mitt Romney.

Judy Chaikin is the director of "The Girls in the Band," which is being shown by Cinema Falls, a monthly film series that brings indie and foreign film to Sioux Falls, tonight. "The Girls in the Band," which has won numerous film festival awards, tells the poignant, untold stories of female jazz and big band instrumentalists and their fascinating, groundbreaking journeys from the late 30′s to the present day.
