This week we're listening to Randy McAllister and his band. They were the headliners for the Americana Festival at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City in September of 2011.
McAllister is a drummer, harmonica player, singer and songwriter from Texas. His music is mix of all the styles of the southwest - blues, gospel, roots, Tex-Mex and a little bit of rock 'n' roll, too. He's recorded at least 7 albums and was nominated for a Grammy in 2002. Joining him and his band for the Americana Festival was one of South Dakota's best known fiddlers - Kenny Putnam.
