Affordable Health Care Act, Mike Myers, Black Hills Fire Update and Miss South Dakota

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley comments on the Supreme Court ruling on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. South Dakota is one of the 26 states to challenge the constitutionality of the law. Also, Dave Hewett, President and CEO of the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations, gives his thoughts on today's ruling and how it will affect health care providers in South Dakota.

Mike Myers, associate professor at USD School of Law, discusses the Supreme Court's Affordable Health Care Act ruling. Professor Myers is teaching health care law and also manages the Elder Law Forum, the nation's only law school-based senior legal helpline through which he provides pro bono information, advice and limited representation to persons 55 and older. Professor Myers is on the elderlaw circuit, with book signings and lectures on Intelligent Aging.

SDPB news producer Charles Michael Ray reports on the Black Hills fires. Firefighters have made significant progress on both of the large fires burning in the Black Hills. The Dakota Fire near Sheridan Lake was at about 50 percent containment yesterday. Meanwhile, crews continue to make progress on the Crow Peak Fire near Spearfish. Also, Calista Kirby joins Dakota Midday to talk about her recent honor as Miss South Dakota. The 23 year-old from Brookings received the crown Saturday night in Hot Springs. Her platform is "Stay Well, Get Well," partnered with the American Cancer Society.
