Willie Ames talks about his life as a musician. Ames is a singer/songwriter/guitarist/banjoist from California who began playing at the age of 5. He has won several Los Angeles, eWorld and Phoenix music awards. He's playing at the Prairie Berry Winery tomorrow night in Hill City.
Dr. Geoffrey Henebry, a professor and senior scientist at the Geographic Information Science Center of Excellence at South Dakota State University, talks about his storm study. Henebry is part of a group of scientists studying weather patterns to determine if city size or shape has any influence on a storm's track. Henebry is the principal investigator for the project that has earned a three-year, $1.58 million grant from NASA. Researchers are concentrating on studying storm patterns around urbanized areas in the Great Plains.
Hazel Miller joins Dakota Midday to talk about her life as a singer/musician. Hazel Miller is headlining the 33rd Annual Sioux River Folk Festival at Newton Hills State Park. Miller and her band are performing four times during the festival which runs this Friday through Sunday. She is also performing Monday in Sioux Falls for "Mondays at McKennan Park" at 7 pm. Miller, born in Kentucky, now hails from Colorado.
