British adventurer Dave Cornthwaite talks about his upcoming adventure on the Missouri River. Cornthwaite is continuing his streak of incredible endurance adventure feats by attempting to swim 1,000 miles down the Missouri River, from Chamberlain, SD to St. Louis, MO. This journey is continuing Cornthwaite's Expedition 1000 platform, 25 adventures all via non-motorized transport. He is on the path to raise $1.5 million for two charities; the AV Foundation and CoppaFeel (breast cancer) in the course of completing his record setting journeys to be an educational forum, spreading not only the experiences of adventure but also the environmental issues the worlds waterways are facing and the increasing responsibilities of the younger generation to get involved to make a difference. James L. Johnson joins Dakota Midday to talk about his recent nomination to the SD Arts Council. Johnson, who holds the title of Distinguished Professor of Emeritus of Communication Studies and Theater, headed SDSU's theater program for 27 years before retiring in 2003. He also served as administrative chief for the Prairie Repertory Theatre. He fills the seat held by Larry Lyngstad of Pierre since 2003.
