Dakota Political Junkies, Aspen Prize Finalist and No Cover, No Minimum

Dakota Political Junkies Kevin Woster of the Rapid City Journal and Jonathan Ellis of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader talk about Senator John Thune's address at the Republican National Convention, Democratic Congressional Candidate Matt Varilek's first television ad and the latest signs that former Governor Mike Rounds is preparing for a 2014 Senate run.

Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown has been named one of ten finalists for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation's signature recognition of high achievement and performance in America's community colleges.  LATI was selected from an original pool of more than 1000 community colleges and now enters the last stage of the competition for a $1 million prize fund.  Dakota Midday host Karl Gehrke visits with Michael Cartney, Vice President of Lake Area Technical Institute.

Singer/songwriter Joe West, whose most recent album is "Aberdeen, SD," recorded a performance last night for the new season of No Cover, No Minimum on SDPB-TV.  Producer Kevin Patten talks about the new season while SDPB Radio's Susan Hanson discusses No Cover, No Minimum Radio which airs Saturday nights at 11pm Central.
