By Eryn ClementThe budget deficit and the number of full time employees continue to be the topic of discussion between lawmakers as the legislative session hits full stride. During the Republican Press Conference Thursday,Senator David Knudson and Representative Kristi Noem spoke about the state’s obligation to residents of South Dakota and how the legislative session is progressing. Noem says she thinks South Dakotans are impressed with the legislation moving through the capitol. “We are about half way through our session, we’re getting there. And I think we’re right on course. Our legislation that we are proposing and working on is on schedule and I anticipate we’re going to have a great session. And when we get to the end of this session, we’re going to have done a great thing for the people of South Dakota. We will have zero deficit spending and be prepared for the next budget year which looks to be a tough one as well,” says Noem.Senator Knudson says the committees are very active this year as the Senate and House of Representatives are working through roughly 450 pieces of legislation
