The Sex Offender Registry took up much of the discussion in the Senate Judiciary Committee in the state Capitol. The Senators killed three sex offender bills created from a 2009 summer study. The bills deal with juvenile sex offenders, modifying the criteria for the removal from the sex offender registry, and limits on the misdemeanor eligibility for registering on the sex offender list. The Senators killed the measures because they felt all three issues were addressed in another measure that would establish a tiered sex offender registry. The measure passed and now moves on to the Senate.
Should kolache's become the state pastry - according the Senator Frank Kloucek of Scotland they should. Today he told members of the Senate Commerce committee that adding t kolache's as the state pastry would help the economy.
Kloucek met some opposition as Senator Nancy Turbak Berry posed some questions as to why lawmakers should chose kolache's over other pastries.
The measure failed this morning the vote was 4 to 2.
