Headlight Bill
Air Date:02/11/2010
South Dakota State Senators think you should drive with your headlights on in inclement weather. The State Senate has passed a bill that requires motorists to use their head and tail lights anytime the visibility is below five hundred feet.

The bill is an attempt to improve highway safety in bad weather. State Senator Mike Vehle (valley) is a prime sponsor.
"Remember when you're meeting someone at 60 miles per hour that leaves you one point, or one and an eighth second to make that decision - I know you folks are quick - but are you that quick," says Vehle.
But Senator Gene Abdallah doesn't like the bill.
"This law or this bill is totally and completely unenforceable," says Abdallah.
The bill passed the Senate by a vote of 24 to 10. It goes next to the House.
