State lawmakers debated a bill that would take away policy making authority from businesses when it comes to firearms and vehicles. The measure brought by Republican Representative Dan Lederman from the Dakota Dunes would prohibit businesses from creating policies that keep employees from storing firearms in their vehicles while on company property.
Democrat Richard Engles from Hartford explained that such a law may not be a good idea in certain situations.
After a lengthy discussion the measure failed - the final vote was 32 to 34.
