Both Democrats and Republicans say the pace is picking up as the legislative session continues.
The House Commerce Committee looks at a bill that provides health insurance coverage for contraceptive drugs, and another bill that sets age requirements for those who sell certain alcoholic beverages. The House Education Committee discusses a bill that requires children to attend school until age sixteen rather than eighteen.
On the Senate side, the State Affairs Committee looks at a bill that imposes a fee on certain pipelines carrying crude oil and creates a fund that may be used in the event of a spill. The Senate also begins to take up several house bills including one in the Appropriations Committee that revises certain allocations for disabilities in the state aid for special education formula.
