By Jackelyn SeverinU.S. Representative Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin spoke to South Dakota lawmakers Monday. She says while health care reform has been a slow process - congress is working on a number of important issues. She says one crucial piece of legislation for South Dakota is the Tribal Law and Order Act. Herseth-Sandlin says, “You know I think it just goes without saying that whether you live in Kyle, whether you live in Eagle Butte, whether you live in Aberdeen every family has the equal right to have a basic sense of security in their homes and in their communities.” Herseth-Sandlin says Congress needs to allocate enough resources for officers and facilities for the Tribal Law and Order Act to truly combat crime on reservations.
