By Kealey BultenaThe South Dakota legislature has some new faces this session. Senator Angie Buhl is a young Democrat from Sioux Falls. She says November’s election was her first political campaign, and it took her around her district, knocking on doors and asking constituents about their needs. She says her goals as a lawmaker reflect her district."It’s a lot of the same issues. It’s the economy and making sure we’re building our workforce in South Dakota. It’s also fighting for folks who aren’t represented in the Capitol because we know that the legislative body does not always represent demographically the rest of South Dakota. It’s a lot of elderly folks and a lot of younger people and students and folks on Medicaid and state employees and all of that," Buhl says. Buhl says one of the reasons she wanted to come to Pierre is that she didn’t see many women or younger people in the Statehouse.
